Crossroads of Tradition – Lublin House of Dance
Crossroads of Tradition – Lublin House of Dance
Workshops / Dance Parties
Crossroads of Tradition – Lublin House of Dance is a project dedicated to practicing, documenting, and promoting traditional folk dance forms, with a particular focus on the dance heritage of the Lublin region, other parts of Poland, and the Polish-Ukrainian and Polish-Belarusian borderlands. The project is based on the idea of the equal participation of all its participants in traditional culture.
The workshops provide opportunities to gain basic cultural competencies and strengthen local identity while encouraging reflection on how elements of traditional rural culture can serve contemporary urban communities as a universal foundation for social engagement.
The program focuses on dance workshops led by outstanding specialists in their fields. Each workshop concludes with a communal dance party accompanied by a traditional live band playing dance melodies.
