The next edition of traditional singing workshops with Iryna Klymenko is ahead of us. We invite everyone who would like to spend this post-Christmas time with traditional Ukrainian carols and songs related to the celebration of Christmas and New Year.
The three-day class will take place on 28-30 December 2022 in the Sala ROZDROŻY (1st floor, building of the Cultural Centre in Lublin, 12 Peowiaków St.) from 17.00 to 20.00.

The workshop is held within the framework of the “We support Ukraine” aid programme for Ukrainian artists run by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
Iryna Klymenko – prominent traditional style singer, ethnomusicologist, PhD in art history (2021), singer, professor of the Department of Ukrainian Music History and Musical Folklore of the Pyotr Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music of Ukraine, head of the Ethnomusicology Laboratory (since 2002). She has conducted more than 90 expeditions to Ukrainian villages and has explored more than 400 localities. She is the author of two scientific monographs, including the publication entitled. “Ritual melodies of Ukrainians in the Slavic-Baltic context: typology and geography” (2020) and more than 75 scientific articles. For many years she sang as the main soloist in the well-known Drewo ensemble from Kiev, and later in the ensembles Hurtoprawcy, Babsky Kozaczok. She has also conducted master classes in Ukrainian singing in Poland and Ukraine.
